Poppy Bench
The relationship between wood and upholstery gives the piece much of its visual character.

DetailsWhat gives Poppy Bench its identity is the way proportion and structure remain visible. Four cylindrical legs, linked together by a rounded back, support a generous seat. Developed from Hamilton Conte's Penny range, Poppy closes in the open frame that gives Penny its interplay of solid and void, trading that transparency for a central upholstered swath across the back and armrests.
Poppy Bench can sit naturally at a dining table, at the foot of a bed, along a hallway or in a reception setting, depending on the project. Keep the surrounding pieces simpler so its outline remains easy to read.
“Choose the fabric or leather with the surrounding materials in mind, and avoid treating the seat as a standalone colour decision.”
The upholstery is a large part of how Poppy Bench will read in a finished room.
Let the wood and upholstery create the main contrast. Natural textiles, a quieter rug and one simple table surface will keep the room warm without making it feel overly coordinated.
