Afra Armchair
It is quiet by design: a light wooden frame, a restrained profile and just enough upholstery for comfort.

DetailsThe Japanese influence is visible in the restraint of the frame. Clean wooden lines remain exposed and the upholstery sits within them rather than covering the structure, so the chair feels light even though the seat is comfortably padded.
The armchair works well in a lounge, reading corner, private office or hospitality setting where the room needs warmth without a large upholstered volume. The visible timber is especially useful in interiors with a lot of stone, metal or glass because it introduces a softer material without becoming rustic.
“It can sit in the room for years without dictating the rest of the scheme, which makes it particularly useful for interiors that evolve over time.”
Afra is a calmer chair than many sculptural lounge pieces.
Stay close to natural textures—wool, leather, linen and quieter stone. High-gloss companions would work against the restraint that makes Afra appealing.
