DetailsModern and sophisticated, minimalist and stunning, the Alix armchair stands out for its woven backrest obtained by intertwining leather strips. This project, designed by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez, won acknowledgements in Italy – the Archiproducts Design Award 2023 for instance, as well publication in the ADI Design Index 2024 - and abroad - the IF Design Award 2025. Picked up by the oblique slant of the rear legs, this pattern is inspired by the diamondshaped embellishments that used to decorate many entrance halls in Milan in the beginning of the 20th century.
Use Alix beside a sofa, in a reading corner or as a pair around a small table. It works best when there is enough space around the chair for its side and back profile to remain visible.
