Kate
The relationship between wood and upholstery gives the piece much of its visual character.

DetailsThe design idea is easy to read because the silhouette does most of the work. A slightly curved backrest wraps around a seat supported by four tapered legs with subtle curves. It takes on the boldly enveloping curves with a back sloping downwards to the perfect armrest height.
Kate works naturally around a dining table, but its shape has enough character for hospitality or occasional use as well. Repeating it keeps a larger setting calm; using one or two lets the design read more like an accent.
“Choose the fabric or leather with the surrounding materials in mind, and avoid treating the seat as a standalone colour decision.”
The upholstery is a large part of how Kate will read in a finished room.
Let the wood and upholstery create the main contrast. Natural textiles, a quieter rug and one simple table surface will keep the room warm without making it feel overly coordinated.
